Okay, that’s an exaggeration. It was more of a nudge than a kick. Seriously, if this family wasn’t so warm, welcoming and nice they would have kicked me out! I could have easily stayed all afternoon. As you can see the kids are so photogenic even their sweet personalities came through in the photographs. Getting to know these two beautiful children and their parents was a treat. It’s kids and families like this that made me come back from hiatus. Hey K family, don’t be surprised if I stop by for some more Milano cookies and coffee soon!

Weekend appointments are all booked and there are a limited amount of weekday appointments for the rest of this year. If you have a newborn, a baby less than 1 week of age, contact me as soon as possible and I will make every effort to accommodate you.
This time of year is the peak of my busy season, so as things start to settle down I will be posting some recent sessions and maybe even a sneak peek or two.
Here’s a sneak preview for Sweet Baby E’s family. I knew it was going to be a great session when I walked in and there just so happened to be a 4 foot tall piece of white styrofoam in the formal living room. I loved every shot and every minute of this session. Baby E was a photographer’s dream, beautiful, sleepy and patient with her photographer.

Erin Vey leaves me wishing that my most compelling story about Bogart was not about eating my intimates. Bark!, the blog written by friend and fellow photographer Erin, has announced a new contest. She’s offering a complimentary photography session, session album and custom mounted enlargement to the winner. I know, she’s in Seattle, right? That’s so far to travel with Fido! Well, Erin is willing to travel anywhere in the United States to photograph the winner. Are you dogless? You can nominate someone too. Check out the contest details and her stunning work on the Bark! contest page.
As the sun set on Labor Day, I started to morn the end of summer. Soon flip flops will be replaced with snow boots, popsicles with hot cocoa and swim goggles with ski goggles. Yes! I love mourning the end of summer because it means winter is around the corner. I can’t wait to swoosh down the slopes again. Best of all in nestled between summer and winter is fall. I feel so fortunate to live in an area that has four seasons.
Right now I’m in the process of updating my children’s photography website. Thank you for your patience during it’s reconstruction. I’ve spent my hiatus collecting new ideas, unique products and tons inspiration. I can’t wait to share them all with you!
Well, I didn’t exactly stop working during my hiatus. I did work with a handful of clients. I also did something really special. I photographed some children for the Connecticut Department of Children and Families Heart Gallery.
I am humbled and honored by my experience donating photographs to the gallery. The people that I met during my sessions are nothing less than amazing. Not only are the children looking for permanent homes cool, but the state employees that have devoted their lives to these kids are too. I feel so fortunate to be selected to be a Heart Gallery photographer. I’m looking forward to donating more time and photographs again.
Hello! Hello! The hiatus is over. Sophie’s in Kindergarten, Jack’s in second grade and I’m back in full force!
I’ll continue to work on my website and try to show this blog some love too over the next few weeks.
Notice something new? Yep! I changed my blog format. Do you like it? Send me an email and let me know.
Thank you for all your messages, emails and pictures. It’s been wonderful hearing from you on my time off. I’ve missed you all and can’t wait to start photographing your families again and reconnecting with my photographer friends. Thank you also for all your patience…. and perseverance, yes, that’s you M family!!
For my loyal blog reading clients, send me an email to say hi and ask me about what I’m doing to celebrate the end of my hiatus. It has to do with your 2008 sessions, so say hello already!
Today is the last day for the opportunity to write my final 2006 blog entry. The person that writes the entry that gets published will receive a NEW iPod Shuffle.
Thank you for all your entries. Every one has been special and I’ve truly enjoyed reading them!

Did you notice those adorable children at the top of this post? This family is so warm and welcoming. Somehow, (osmosis?) their home has the same qualities. As soon as I entered their home, I immediately felt like I had been there before. M felt like an old friend instantly. I could have stayed all day with this family (in fact, come to think about it, I did stay for snack time). Thank you dear M, for such a wonderful session!
